The third and final of this year’s Concerts at the Barn Series at Ramsaysburg featured the Michael Jorgenson Classical String Trio. Violinist Michael Jorgenson, joined by Chris Gross (cello) and Hannah Levinson (viola), will perform J. S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations

“Johann Sebastian Bach’s Goldberg Variations has become an iconic monument in Western music. On one level, it’s simply a beautiful keyboard work, and on another,
it’s a Rubik’s Cube of invention and architecture.” (NPR)

The “Goldberg Variations” by J.S.Bach have long been acknowledged as one of his supreme masterpieces for keyboard. In this arrangement by Dimitri Sitkovetsky for String Trio, Bach’s genius is revealed in a new and dramatic light. The work is presented in its entirety, with an intermission programmed by Bach himself.

Gates open at 5:00pm and music will start at 6:00. Guests are welcome to arrive early and bring a picnic with beverage of their choice. Please feel free to invite your friends and family! Indoor, outdoor and cabaret seating is available, or bring your own lawn chair or blanket.
